Dr. Asa Carson
Dr. Carson is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry, and is a current member of Chicago Dental Society and American Dental Association. Dr. Carson believes it is important to create relationships and educate each patient, in order to provide an appropriate treatment plan and care. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, staying current with new dental technology, and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Sean Marfia
Dr Sean Marfia graduated from Southern Illinois University school of dental medicine 2002 and a general practice residency in 2003. He is a US NAVY officer veteran and husband and father to 3 kids Patrick, Austin, Annette. Dr Marfia is an avid outdoorsman, hunter, fisherman with occasional Colorado elk hunts. He is proficient in root canals, dental implants, extractions, prosthodontics and clear orthodontic aligners.
He considers himself the dentist that patients want because they get the services they want /need and are never ashamed or embarrassed about their current situation. Lastly, he is a handshaker guy.
Dr. Mireya Galvan
Dr. Galvan graduated from the University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry and is a member of the American Dental Association. She strives to develop friendly and meaningful relationships with her patients while providing professional and compassionate care. Outside of the office, you may catch a glimpse of Dr. Galvan in full gear riding her Kawasaki Ninja sport bike. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring new places, and listening to a variety of music. She is also a huge cat lover and foodie.

Dr. Carson is incredibly thorough and understanding of dental anxiety. I originally came here for a second opinion after being told I needed a root canal at a different practice. Dr. Carson not only gave me his opinion but thoroughly explained my x-rays and options to me. I felt well educated after that (and ended up not needing a root canal & only a filling replacement which saved me about $1000–18 months later still no issues with the tooth). The atmosphere of the office is very laid back but still professional.

I recently came here to come and get my journey started on my teeth fixed and let me tell you the staff right off the bat was such great staff, than when brought to the dentist chair the dentist was an amazing dentist very helpful very caring and got me wanting to fix my teeth and do this journey! Upon my teeth cleaning I didn't feel anything and the dentist had a very gentile hand! It sometimes hard to come by a dentist that truly wants to help yah fix your teeth when you walk in there with a neglected smile but this place and staff was all about helpin! I don't know where to begin! Today was my first visit and the entire staff was extremely nice and welcoming. The office was extremely clean and smelled with a nice aroma. They were patient and answered all of my questions. Dr. Carson is amazing and made me feel very comfortable although I was a bit self conscious regarding dental work needed. Loved the dentist Ann Gaffney, very knowledgeable and gentle. Tech that polished and flossed my teeth with my cleaning was horrible. Polish paste everywhere (up my nose, in my hair and choked on chunks) she barely touched my teeth with the polisher, hence the paste everywhere. I made her stop flossing cuz she would just skip the tooth if she couldn’t get the floss in between the teeth but when she was able to get floss in, she slammed the floss in.She lacks experience and professionalism. Needs more training !!

Best dental experience I’ve ever had! I chipped a tooth and had it fixed within a day. The receptionist was personable and warm from the moment I arrived and Dr. Carson and his hygienist treated me with the utmost care, and professionalism. I love Dr. Solus and am always happy to see her and loved her old practice and have been a patient for decades. Unfortunately, this office is less than desirable in my opinion. My appointment was changed without my knowledge. Staff doesn’t seem very organized. Also disappointed that they don’t have dental hygienists.

Good experience. Dr Carson himself cleaned my teeth. First time for me that the dentist performed this process. Everyone was nice and professional. Just put me in the incorrect room and another patients info was on the screen and then they moved me about 5 minutes later. Just be careful about that part. Otherwise glad my husband and I found him. Will see how my husbands appt goes tomorrow.

Update:
The 1st post was based on consultation but now that I’ve had actual work done, I can say, again, that Dr. Carson is wonderful and his staff is extremely kind. Yesterday, my tooth decided it was done with me and broke out 🤣. Dr. Carson fixed it the very next day (today) and in less than 2 hrs. Impressive! Now my smile is back to normal. I was also expecting to be in pain but I’m not, I’m perfectly fine. He is gentle and his assistants are the same. I will be back. Thanks! God Bless.

Had a dental emergency, so I went to ZocDoc to find a dentist on Wednesday. Found someone with an available appointment on Monday. The plus was the office was not downtown and the appointment time was perfect because I am an educator and my time is not flexible. I scheduled the appointment, but when I called the next day (Thursday) to give healthcare information, my appointment had been canceled. The receptionist stated that I and another patient has the same appointment time. So, my appointment was canceled because they did not hear from me. Someone should have called me to give me options, if that was the case. Who scheduled their appointment first? Of course, I still have a dental emergency.
Got a call the next day. An appointment became available on Monday, an hour earlier than the previous appointment, so I took it. Upon entering the facility, I was pleasantly greeted. The staff made sure I was comfortable until the dentist was ready. Dr. Carson and his assistant, Yolanda for very attentive to my needs. Every step in the process of correcting my issue was explained and care was given to make sure that I felt better; even the bill was explained thoroughly.

Worst place ever!! 2 crowns done by Dr. Carson. One is flat and the other is too high from the margin. Have had the one "adjusted" by 2 different dentists there and it is still not right. Now i am just stuck with them. They over charged me and had to refund me over $1000. Went there to see Dr. George to do 3 more crowns and want to charge me $1750 when my insurance pays 80%, which I should only have to pay $840, but will not do them unless I pay the $1750 up front. I requested to see Dr. Gaffney but, when I got there Dr. George seen me. She is very nice, I would probably see her, if she was somewhere else.

Made an appt online. Uploaded my insurance info weeks in advance. Show up for my appt office is very nice.
Rep walks me back to their x-ray scanning machine than into an office for more x-rays. I’ve been in the office for about 10 mins now.
Than a new rep comes in explaining that my insurance does not cover the 2 procedures they just did. I question how they had my insurance info for weeks and moments after the procedures they just did I need to pay hundreds for now.
Doc comes in starts telling me how the previous visit I had had the work done so my insurance won’t cover it.
Do better. You had my info for weeks. You knew what was and was not covered. I will not pay for services that my insurance covers. This place is a scam.

The best dental experience I’ve ever had! I was taken in within a couple of minutes from the time I arrived. The entire staff was so friendly and personable! As a new patient, be prepared to take X-rays so they can create your profile.
Small Opportunity area: Floss beneath permanent retainers. I have a metal bar on my lower row of teeth. This is the first time since having the bar (5+ years and 3 different dentists) where they didn’t floss below the bar. When I asked about it, the dentro hygienist informed me that the dentist had already removed all of the plaque during the cleaning so flossing beneath the bar was unnecessary. I personally disagree. It takes 30 extra seconds and is the extra diligence I expect with a professional cleaning. I can personally only floss the top of the bar but I know that’s me being lazy :)
Regardless of this small opportunity area, it is a LOVELY dentist office! Me and my whole family will make it our primary provider of dental care.

Dr. Carson, is the absolute best! He has terrific bedside manner! He is so patient, and really listens to you. He is great at giving you his best professional opinion without undermining your ideas/concerns. I came to see him originally for a veneer consult, he gave me a few options after listening to my areas of concern and never got pushy selling me just 1 option. I appreciated his feed back and we came up with a treatment plan. After getting my braces removed, I returned to see him for some minor tweaks. His office was so great and got me in quickly. The small changes he made, made such a huge difference! I am super happy, Dr. Carson definitely has a great eye! Very technical and precise. I will be returning back to him for all my general dental needs.

I was greeted by very friendly and welcoming front desk personnel. The hygienist lead me to the back to an extremely neat room after taking panoramic pic.
Dr. Carson was very kind and concise in his agenda for my care and follow-up care.
Overall, this was a great experience.

Dr. Carson and his team were incredibly kind, competent, thorough, and answered all of my questions. Preformed a comprehensive exam, and made sure to cover all bases. Honestly the best experience I’ve ever had at a dentists office!

They deserve another 5 star review! Dr. Carson and the staff here are wonderful: kind, caring, and knowledgeable. They are excellent with nervous patients and explain everything clearly so there are no surprises. They also show you before and after photos to show what was done and why. The office is very clean and modern and they are extremely efficient and skilled with their tools. I'm having a lot of work done (had extensive bad work done as a kid and need some of it revised) and I appreciate that Dr. Carson made me feel empowered and competent, not like I somehow failed to care properly for my teeth. I would recommend this practice (and have already done so) without hesitation!

🎉Dr. Carson and the Team were fabulous. I have never smiled walking out of a dentist office. Dr. Carson was kind, clear in his feedback making sure I understood my X-rays. He gave very detail instructions with next steps for my continue improvement, appointments and the financial. The office is beautiful with advance equipment which helped make my first visit a great one. Thanks again for the wonder service🎉

Highly recommend! Since the first time I seen Dr.Carson for dental work at downtown dental I was pleased with how knowledgeable and honest he was. He is honestly a top tier dentist and his staff is amazing. This will be my long term dentist, I haven’t met someone as good as him yet!

Best dentist ever, I’ve never met such nice and awesome staff. These staff are so caring towards their patients, they’re gentle with patients and know how to manage children as well. Another good thing about this dentist is that it’s so clean and very organized, I have a mild ocd so it bothers me a bit when things aren’t organized and clean but this dentist office is so pleasing to me. Dr Carson is the best dentist.

I had an excellent experience from the front desk receptionist to the dental hygienist and the doctor. There is a great deal of knowledge, detail, and a gentle manner in which the doctor conducts himself. In addition, they have some of the most advanced technology for their equipment, which my husband and I greatly appreciated.

Great experience! Was lucky enough to get a same day first time appointment for a cleaning. Did not wait much after filling the routine new patient forms on the provided tablet. The whole team was very friendly and the facility seems to be new, very clean and has nice equipment. My cleaning went super smooth and, to my pleasant surprise, with barely any discomfort. In an out in under 45 minutes which included new patient form filling, panoramic and bite wing X-rays, cleaning, checkup, and checkout.

An absolute class act of dentistry displayed by this team. Went in for the first time and was surprised by how young everyone is. The doctor took his time to explain everything he was doing and pulled up my x-rays, pictures etc and walked through his thought process. Never been to a dentist who was so involved. 10/10 will be going again

I'm don't normally give five stars but these guys deserve it. The staff was super friendly. They explained everything they were doing. Going to the Dentist has always been a nerving experience for me this was not the case and they were very helpful and they walked me through my treatment plan and I am very grateful.

It was a pleasure as soon as I walked through the door! Greeted by Viviana, then being accompanied by Siesha made me feel so comfortable! Dr. Luke was extremely informative, and made me feel just as comfortable! What a great environment! I would recommend any/ and everyone to visit this location!

The customer service was great! I was running late and the staff was friendly and spoke with the doctor to please make time to see me. The Lead Assistant Sye was professional, nice and accomodating. She was knowledgeable and deligently assisted the doctor when examining my teeth. The doctor explained my treatment plan in detail and was very professional. I recommend Smile Obsession in Tinley Park for a great experience and a great smile!

I hate to sound weird—but I had a wonderful teeth cleaning experience here. It is new, clean, and up to date. The staff was welcoming. And did I say clean? Probably the cleanest dentist office I have been to yet. The dentist was gentle and took the time to answer all my questions. I will be back

This was my first time going to smile obsession. However, it won’t be my last. The staff there is incredibly friendly and welcoming. I’m not one to get nervous going to the dentist, but I can assure those who are will more than likely feel very welcomed here. Making an appointment went smoothly, I didn’t think they’d be able to get my mom and I in as soon as they did. We had to check in when we got there which was easy. The place was spotless. It looked very professional and sleek. I loved the subtle touches of gold they had. Lastly, Dr. Luke was nothing short of amazing! While I knew my jaw would pop every so often, I never knew it was because I was grinding my teeth. I really appreciate him telling me what was going on and tell me they have treatment plans for it. Overall, Smile Obsession is amazing, and I’m truly happy I found them. Thank you for such an awesome visit!
